Combining Eastern longan with Western gin, this spirit is crafted using a method similar to sloe gin. A rice-based spirit is first infused with juniper berries and longan, then distilled. It is then macerated with kiln-roasted longan, filtered, and blended to a final bottling strength of 43%. The resulting spirit has a reddish-brown hue, with kiln-fired and smoky aromas harmoniously integrated with the character of gin.
On the nose, it opens with the toasty, smoky aroma of longan. The palate is smooth and mellow, with the sweetness and fragrance of longan at the forefront, followed by a rich, lingering smokiness on the finish. The long, captivating aftertaste makes it a uniquely Taiwanese expression of gin.
