-Featuring French Oysters and Taiwanese Botanicals
Taiwanese craft gin brand Perfumer’s Gin has announced the release of its new Navy Strength Gin 57%, scheduled to debut at the Taipei Intl’ Wine & Spirits Expo in April 2026. Inspired by the historic naval standard of 57% Navy Strength, the gin presents a more concentrated and structured flavor profile under higher alcohol strength, making it a rare example of Navy Strength gin in the Taiwanese market.
For this release, Perfumer’s Gin collaborated with “Oyster man”Daney, a Guinness World Record holder, incorporating fresh French oysters flown in from France as part of the distillation. The recipe also features a range of Taiwanese ingredients including Matsu kelp (Matsukelp), Taiwanese flatfish, Biluochun green tea, green mango (qingren fruit), dried pineapple, as well as flowers such as helichrysum, pagoda tree blossom, and peony. Together they create a layered profile combining marine salinity, elegant tea aromas, and floral-fruity complexity.
At 57% ABV, the Navy Strength structure amplifies the botanical character. Juniper provides the backbone, while kelp and flatfish contribute deep umami notes. Biluochun green tea and florals introduce a refined aromatic lift, and the tropical sweetness of pineapple and dried fruits helps balance the intensity of the spirit.
Perfumer’s Gin states that the goal of this expression is to showcase a Navy Strength gin that reflects Taiwan’s island terroir and maritime identity. The new release will make its official debut at the 2026 Taipei Intl’ Wine & Spirits Expo, where visitors will have the opportunity to taste the spirit.
