If a bottle of spirits could speak, give it the time of one sip and listen to how it describes Taiwan. In 2026, ABAS proudly introduces its debut release: the terroir-inspired gin “YUYU.” Crafted on a base of Taiwanese sorghum spirit and refined through meticulous distillation, this expression translates the island’s landscapes into a drinkable language of flavor.

The Aroma of an Island — A Journey in Three Notes

Unlike traditional gin, YUYU features natural extracts of black tea and pomelo blossom from Miaoli, creating a layered aromatic profile that unfolds beautifully:

Opening Note:
Classic juniper leads the way, accompanied by the fresh scent of bamboo leaves—like a gentle breeze through a forest, inviting exploration.

Heart Note:
Bright citrus aromas bloom at the center, evoking the vitality of Taiwan’s island orchards.

Finish:
Pomelo blossom and bamboo leaves softly intertwine, leaving a calm tea-like depth with a hint of honey sweetness and a lingering floral aftertaste.

From Sorghum to Gin — Redefining a Taiwanese Style

Instead of neutral grain alcohol, YUYU is built on a base of Taiwanese sorghum spirit, giving it a fuller and smoother body. The result is not only a journey of flavor, but also a bold step by ABAS artisans to bring Taiwan’s culture, landscape, and craftsmanship onto the global stage.
